poppysmic

today we watched love happens without having any inclination as to what the storyline was about, save for it having jennifer aniston and appearing to be the usual romance show, as i didn't want to chance the blue mansion. anyway, it turned out to be not what we were expecting at all, the focus wasn't really on two people, all the usual undercurrents etc. but more like one person's learning curve, which is refreshing (what's with this word lately? it somehow conjures up mental images of one of the NON-alcoholic drinks at loof. don't ask me why) in that the focus of the movie is different from the usual. it's not very deep/the scenarios are obviously never going to pan out that way in real life, but hey, that's why we love fiction right?

i also bought books today! (: since i couldn't get my birks till they're re-stocked anyway, i decided to indulge and buy books! bought books (ok technically as my very funny not dad said, it's one book physically, but has got two different stories therefore it should be i bought a book rather than two. so if you think im not funny, you know where i got it from!) from an author i haven't read any books of before, tess gerritsen. it's the usual staple murder/forensics/science thriller kind of books that i read (: bought emma also, and started reading it. my mum was like, you're only reading emma NOW?! ouch. hahaha. then she proceeded to scold me for buying. but it cost only 5bucks and i'ld much rather read a new one than her old silverfish eaten one! not that i'll be able to find it... my house seriously has a room full of books. no joke, it's a ROOMFUL.

im convinced that emma's going to marry mr knightley! it's using up all my willpower to not peek at the ending. none left to go and start mugging. HAHA. anyway darn, i think im like emma in some aspects! ):
